Take your chess to the next level with Barbosa Chess Academy’s structured online group classes whole year round, designed specifically for players rated 1300 up to 1600. This program combines high-level instruction with practical tournament experience, giving students the tools to improve both understanding and performance.
Program Details:
Schedule: Saturdays, September 26 – December 19, 2026 (9 sessions)
September: 26
October: 03, 10, 24, 31
November: 14, 21December: 12, 19
Time: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
8:30 – 10:00 AM: Interactive lecture (90 minutes) (Recorded)
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: Online training tournament (four 15-minute games) hosted on Chess.com
Format: Live online group sessions, divided into appropriate rating groups.
Each class features in-depth lessons covering advanced strategy, positional understanding, calculation techniques, and practical game analysis. After the lecture, students immediately apply what they’ve learned in a competitive tournament setting, reinforcing key concepts through real gameplay.
Registration:
$450 for the full 9-session semester
$60 per session day

BCA Masters Training Program Online — 2000+

Led by GM Oliver Barbosa and GM Mark Paragua
A high-level training group built for rated 2000+ players who are ready to commit to the rigorous work and discipline required to earn the master title — and to keep climbing toward Grandmaster.
Each Sunday session opens with a lecture and open discussion led by GM Barbosa and GM Paragua, followed by an online training tournament that the Grandmasters play in alongside participants. You won't just study with them; you'll compete against them.
